Meet our current Board Members 

I have been a licensed child care professional since January of 2000. I have worked hard to get where I am today. I’m currently Credentialed at a Level 5. I used the Professional Development Fund through Credentialing to send myself to college where I received my AAS in Early Childhood Development. I was one of the few providers in the Excels pilot program and am now a Level 3. I have been an active member of the Calvert County Daycare Association for over 10 years; as a member, as the Donation Coordinator, Preschool Program Coordinator, Vice President, and currently President.

My name is Jillian Pike. I have been a member of the Calvert County Daycare Association since I opened my daycare in June of 2014. Last year I was part of the donations committee. Now I am your Vice President! Currently, I am a student at CSM. I am pursuing my Associate’s Degree. My daycare is Credentialed at a Level 4. I am in the process of expanding to a Large Family Daycare. Prior to opening my daycare, I was a stay at home mom with experience in the graphic arts field. I have a wonderful husband, Jesse, for 15 years. Together we have two children. Vince is 14 years old and Kitty is 12 years old.

Hello! I am your current Treasurer/Secretary, Melissa Robey.  I first received my childcare license in August 2006.  Prior to opening my Lusby based childcare program, I was a Children’s Librarian with the St. Mary’s County Public Library system.  I utilized the Child Care Professional Development Fund to complete my Associate’s of Applied Science in Early Childhood Development through the College of Southern Maryland in 2011.  I have been Credentialed since opening my program and currently hold a Credential Level Five.  I worked through the initial Field Test/Pilot Program for Maryland Excels and hold a Check Level 3.  I also hold an Advanced Certificate in Accounting from the College of Southern Maryland.

I married my high school sweetheart, James, in 2002 and we have three amazing children.  Our sons, Curtis (17 years old) and Nathan (14 years old) are both strong baseball players and have played travel baseball for the last 5 years as well as playing for their school teams.  Our daughter, Grace (10 years old) is an amazing helping hand with my program and loves cheerleading.  My favorite way to release tension and stay active is to attend Zumba classes or run with my music volume turned WAY up.  I also love reading and camping (or “Glamping” in our air-conditioned home on wheels) with my family and friends. 

Hi! My name is Anna Walker and I am your new secretary to committees.  I have been in childcare for over 12 years now, my experiences throughout those years include assistant director, pre-k teacher, infant teacher, and now owner. In 2013 I opened my own daycare; Joyful Noise Home Daycare. During those years I also completed my degree in Early Childhood Education and various courses such as medicine administration, SIDS training, First aid and CPR, and have been credentialed level 5  for 8 years now and excelled level 2. I married my amazing supportive husband Marty Walker in 2013 and we now have two children ages 3 and almost 1 years old. This career path is truly rewarding, I cherish all the connections I have made over the years and look forward to all those families that are to come into our program In the future. I am honored to be a part of the association, it is such a caring group of women.
