What is a Maryland Licensed family child care provider?
*MD licensed providers care for up to 8 children inside their home.
*A few are registered as Large Family Childcare and can provide care for up to 12 children.
*Many of our homes are set up as learning environments where the space is designed for the children in our care. We are teachers and we spend countless hours researching, learning and setting up great environments for the children.
*Licensed providers are required to complete First Aid, CPR, SIDS, Breastfeeding Awareness and Basic Health and Safety training. Providers also complete a minimum of 12 additional hours of training in several content areas annually.
*Family childcare homes are inspected at least once per year by the Office of Child Care state licensing department to help ensure the safety of enrolled children.
Please be sure that the provider you are contacting is licensed and has a license number posted. The Calvert County Family Daycare Association will only knowingly connect you with currently licensed family child care providers.
ALL FAMILY CHILD CARE PROVIDERS IN OUR ASSOCIATION ARE REQUIRED TO BE LICENSED WITH THE MARYLAND STATE DEPT OF EDUCATION, OFFICE OF CHILD CARE!
